The Blak Holes duo Isaac Compton and Dane Simpson pull in rapid fire laughs at their hit Melbourne International Comedy Festival performance.
Their super nova status as comedians confirmed with their look into dating, fame, family, life, love, money and the world of entertainment & social media for men in Australia, especially Indigenous men.
Compton’s guitar-backed rendition of Jolene, about right wing polly Pauline Hanson, is brilliant. His dulcet tones hit new heights examining the depths & extremes of Australian politics – complete with a slideshow of pictures of the woman herself. Admittedly, they might not be the ones Hanson would have chosen but hey, it works.
The comedy scene’s camaraderie in our great southern land is spotlit in their tales of their wide-ranging TV and live experiences.
Simpson’s pure delight at the joys, and challenges, of new fatherhood is almost palpable….As is the pair’s infectious enthusiasm & optimism for us all to have a good old look & laugh at ourselves in this funny thing called life.
The intensity of Blak Holes’ gravitational pull doesn’t let any non-indigenous Australians off easy.
But they totally succeed in making their audience feel part of it all…the good, the bad and everything else. Great show.
